David comments:
Mars Oil Company was based in St. Louis, MO and their
stations stretched as far west as Southern California
(I remember seeing Mars stations in Yuma and Phoenix Arizona, as well as
Lubbock, Texas in the early 80's). Sister brand was "Marine" with
a Seahorse Logo, with stations located within a few hundred mile
radius of St. Louis. Maps for both brands exist from the 50's,
this stamp booklet is one of few "Mars" items seen from later period
(not to say other items aren't out there).
