Cosmo/Yajima Petroleum C-store/self-serve station at 581 Dillingham Blvd., Honolulu, HI. Station was built in 1989-early 1990. This set of photos was taken in May, 1992 by Earl Ma. Station was rebranded to a generic, Tony's C-store, with no gas branding, around 1999.

Cosmo/Yajima service station (formerly Flying A, Phillips, Arco, Aloha) Located at 1375 S. King St., Honolulu, HI. Above photo is a view from King Street. The canopy dates back to the latter Aloha years. Rebranding to Cosmo occurred shortly after the above Dillingham Blvd. location opened (1990). Photo taken May, 1992 by Earl Ma.

Notes from Earl:
The current Cosmo Oil was born in April 1986 with the merger of Daikyo Oil, Maruzen Oil (partially owned by Union) and original "specialized refining firm" Cosmo Oil. In October 1989 Asia Oil joined the conglomerate. The Yajima family, which has owned the King St. location for decades, brought Cosmo to the US in 1989 and expanded to the Dillingham location (though branding the latter first). I do not know if the current Tony's is still owned by Yajima.
